Lexis Suite Penang is located along Jalan Teluk Kumbar on the island and the only luxury hotel in that area. We visited this hotel during Christmas 2020 for a night staycation.
Check in
Check in took quite long due to Christmas holiday and the hotel was fully booked. We were offered a welcome drink at the cafe on lobby level while waiting for check in. However, multi-storey car park was a nightmare! The layout was so confusing and has poor signage.
Room
Our room was a Premium Pool Suite overlooking the ocean. The suite was huge and can easily accommodate a family of 5 with two king sized beds in the suite. The bathroom has separate bathtub and shower room as well as different bidet cubicle. However, the suite was poorly maintained and it was obvious especially in the bathroom.
The best thing about this suite is the private pool and sauna room in the balcony. However, do not expect too much. We tried to adjust the temperature in the sauna room but it didn't work well. The lighting in the private pool area cannot be individually controlled which was a major disappointment! The lighting in the private pool area will be automatically turned off at 10 pm.
The hotel pool was closed during MCO and we did not opt for breakfast.
