Tips

Fairfield by Marriott Kuala Lumpur is the second Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Malaysia after Bintulu Paragon. With just 3 months of operation, you would expect everything to be brand new.

Parking & Accessibility

This hotel does not provide any indoor parking so guests are expected to park their cars at the outdoor parking spaces in front of the hotel entrance for free. This hotel can be accessed by monorail (Chow Kit station) with just 4 minutes walking so you don't have to drive in and out every single time when you are exploring the city since the parking space is based on first come first serve basis.

Check in

Check in was a breeze. We arrived at the hotel around 9:30 pm and there was only one receptionist available. It took us around 5 minutes before we received our room key. I politely asked for complimentary room upgrade but the receptionist told us that it will be available for a fee since not all floors are opened for guests. I was a bit shocked because we never experienced this at any other Marriott hotels but it was completely ok for us since it is a brand new hotel.

For your information, this hotel provides digital key for Marriott Bonvoy members where you can unlock your room and access to the facilities using your phone. However, during our stay it was not available and they told us the digital key was still under construction which was another letdown.

Room

Room was great and everything was brand new. This room is 19sqm but they brilliantly designed the room to make it look spacious and airy. We love the open bathroom concept which made the room look bigger than it was. You would expect basic bathroom amenities at this hotel for this room category.

We were also impressed with their bottled water provided in the room. Normally you would expect to get plastic water bottles or the boxed water bottles but this hotel provides you with glass water bottles.

Pantry and tea making amenities

Bed was huge and can easily accommodate 3 adults but it was really firm. We did not get a good sleep during our stay which impacted our overall rating for this hotel. However, this room comes with a fantastic sofa bed located next to the window overlooking the KL skylines (including the majestic Petronas Twin Towers) which is a good spot for reading or having meals.

Facilities

There is a gym and surau available onsite for in house guests. During Ramadhan, they are organising Terawih prayers and anyone is welcomed to join. Unfortunately we did not manage to pay a visit to the gym since we checked in late at night and checked out the next morning.

Lesung Restaurant is the hotel main restaurant that offers all day dining. During this fasting month, you can indulge in Malaysia local signature dishes priced at RM138 nett per adult.

Overall

Overall, we were happy and satisfied with the service provided and we will definitely come back again in future.
