Tips
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang is the only Hilton Hotels property in the island. Strategically located in Batu Ferringhi, this hotel is just 15 minutes drive to Georgetown UNESCO sites and 15 minutes drive to ESCAPE Penang.
Check in
Check in was smooth and the design of their lobby was impressive. Unlike any other hotels, this hotel has an open-concept lobby where guests will have the glimpse of fresh breeze from the sea. The staffs were attentive and well-trained and they even recognised me and had all the documents ready as soon as I reached the reception counter.
Do not forget to collect your welcome cookies after check in! It was super delicious and freshly baked! If you need extra, you can buy at the Food Store which is situated next to lobby.
As a Gold Hilton Honor member, I was offered free breakfast, complimentary room upgrade, late check out and free drinks at the Axis Lounge (since they do not have executive lounge).
Room
King One Bedroom Suite was huge and can easily accommodate a family of four. It comes with a living area, bedroom, bathroom with a bathtub and a balcony. The bed was great and the selection of TV channels were good enough to occupy me during my stay.
However, I would suggest them to have a simple dining table since there was ample space in the living area that left empty.
Not to forget, THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all staffs who set the in-room deco for my nephew's birthday and the cake was delicious as well. We truly enjoyed the cake and the simple deco (it is complimentary....make sure you contact the hotel to get this arranged prior upon arrival).
The bathroom was good in size even though it got a little cramp due to the bathtub. The bathroom door couldn't be fully opened since there was a shower cubicle next to the door. They provided Crabtree & Evelyn for their bath amenities which was excellent.

Pool
If you are thinking to spend your time at this hotel, you may want to check their pools. They have three pools for you to explore. Yes, you read it right! THREE POOLS. They have one main pool for adults, one pool for kids and one playground pool that comes with water slides. They even have sandy area next to the pool to mimic the actual beach!
In-house guests are also granted access to private beach (through pedestrian bridge) located across the road. You will need your room access card to access this bridge.
Breakfast
Due to covid-19 pandemic and to reduce the guest's movement, this hotel provided three different slots for breakfast and you may choose your own slot during check in. The buffet spread for breakfast was great with lots of choices you can choose from ranging from egg station, asian, western, cereals, pastries and more.
You will need to try their Nasi Lemak and Teh Tarik. They were soooooo gooooooddd!
I was quite surprised that they reserved a table for my family and I during breakfast. My table was situated in the Gold & Diamond Member section which was close to the buffet spread. Not to mention their top notch service! Kudos to all staffs.
