Tips
DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya is the latest Hilton hotels collection in Malaysia, spanning across 4 main towers onsite. This hotel is located strategically in front of Putrajaya Marina and provides the best view in Putrajaya.
Check in
The hotel lobby is located on separate building from its guestrooms. We did arrive on time but our room was not ready until 45 minutes later. The staffs were excellent and they provided the highest standard of service (what you normally expect from an international branded hotel chains). Upon check in, we received two warm signature welcome cookies and a welcome drink. Since I am a Diamond Hilton Honors member, they upgraded me to a King Executive Lakeview Room since the suites were still under renovations.
Room
Our room is located on the third floor overlooking the amazing Putrajaya lake. If you are Hilton Honors member, you may use the digital key to enter your room and access to all other facilities.
The room itself was spacious and new. The king bed was huge and can easily accommodate 3 persons. We really love the separate seating area by the door where you can read a book while enjoying the sunset.
This room comes with a balcony where you can get fresh air while enjoying the view. However, please note that the A/C (air conditioner) in your room will automatically turn off when you open the door. So please make sure that the door is closed properly or otherwise you won't be able to turn on your A/C.
One issue we had with the balcony was the privacy. You can easily access the balcony from the room next door. So be careful and ensure that your balcony door is locked at all time.
The bathroom was spot on!! In most of the DoubleTree hotels, you will not have any vanity area but guess what? This hotel provides vanity area in the bathroom! The shower was great and everything worked well without hassle.
Services
I was not expecting anything extra from the hotel knowing that they will undergoing renovations. However, they went extra miles by providing a welcome gift as well as my birthday amenities in the room since it was few days away from my birthday.
Food
Food paradise! Yes you read it right! Among all DoubleTree hotels I have stayed in Malaysia, this hotel definitely has the best food in term of taste and variety. My friend and I were granted with complimentary breakfast during our stay due to my Diamond status.
The buffet spread during breakfast was spot on! You can find almost everything there. Here is a tip for you........always choose the outdoor seating where you can enjoy the sunrise by the lake while having your breakfast!
We were also served with afternoon tea set in The Koffee (lobby lounge, i guess). Overall the tea set was just above average and there was nothing special about it.
Facilities
One pool is not enough? Two pools? What about 4 pools? Yes!! This hotel has 4 pools!!! The first one is the lakeview infinity pool (for adult) where you can swim while overlooking the lake. They also have kids pool located behind the lakeview infinity pool. However, the main highlight of this hotel would be its splash pool. Splash pool is like a mini water theme park for kids. As expected, you will find this pool to be fully packed with kids (and adults too!). Apart from these three, the hotel also have rooftop infinity pool but it was not ready during our stay since it was still under renovation.
Any chess lovers here? Test your skills with the giant chess set located besides the lakeview infinity pool.
We did not manage to pay a visit to their gym since we were busy exploring Putrajaya and the other facilities of the hotel.
Overall
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again when they are fully operational.
