Tips
DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur is one of the most preferred hotels in Kuala Lumpur among travelers. Located at Ampang Park, this hotel is a mixed development with The Intermark Office Suite and Mall. You can also access the LRT Ampang Park through the covered pedestrian bridge that connects the mall to the station.
Planning to to go the iconic Petronas Twin Towers without crashing your wallet? If your answer is yes, then this hotel might be one of the best options you have. With just 15-18 minutes walking distance to KLCC, this hotel is ideal for travelers who love being in the bustling city centre without crashing our wallet.
My friends and I checked in at this hotel few times before and the quality of service provided is impeccable. We booked a King Guest Room but got upgraded to King Executive Suite due to my Diamond Hilton Honors status.
Check in
We checked in at 20:00 hours since we had evening flights and it took us few minutes to travel from KL Sentral to this hotel. Check in was smooth and fast, thanks to Ms Odelia for assisting us. We received three signature welcome cookies which is the trademark at any DoubleTree by Hilton properties.
Room
The suite was huge and spacious. There was a working desk and small pantry at the side of the entrance. No cutleries are provided (except two tea spoons) but if you need them, they will send to your room with RM5 charge.
The living hall was spacious with a long sofa and chair which can easily accommodate 2 or 3 more guests in the suite. However, the lighting in this suite was a bit dim to our preference and we do prefer more lighting in the suite. The main bedroom and bathroom are separated from the living hall by two sliding doors located at both sides of the TV which offers more privacy.
The bedroom and bathroom were good. We loved the bed and they offered pillow menu where you can choose wide range of pillows ranging from foam to aromatheraphy tatami pillow. The bathroom was spacious and there was a bathtub in the shower cubicle. We were really impressed with the water pressure in the bathroom. Even though our room was at the top floors, we still had great water pressure for showers.
We were again surprised by their level of service. We received a welcome amenities and handwritten note from the hotel manager welcoming us to the hotel.
Food
We had our breakfast at Makan Kitchen that offers wide range of food to choose from. Among all the food, we suggest you to taste their roti telur which was excellent! The only letdown during was their pastries. I am sorry to say that their pastries were terrible. Croissant was hard as rock and other pastries were tasteless.
Unfortunately, we did not manage to visit their lounge since were out the whole day exploring KL but I believe they served good food during evening cocktail.
Facilities
This hotel has a gym, swimming pool, kids pool and all other facilities but we only visited their pool. The pool was huge and can easily accommodate their guests. You will need to book a slot for swimming since they are controlling the number of guests around the pool area due to Covid-19.
Service
Staff service was excellent. They were friendly and eager to help to make your stay memorable. Kudos to all DoubleTree KL staffs.
